Leading Hydrogen Companies of the World to Gather at “H2 MEET 2023” on September 13 The H2 MEET Organizing Committee (Chairman Namhoon Kang) announced it would host the "H2 MEET 2023" at KINTEX in Goyang between September 13 and 15. It is the largest hydrogen industry exhibition in Korea. H2 MEET has attempted to build an industrial ecosystem since 2020, developing Korea's hydrogen industry into a leading business sector. The international showcase started as the Hydrogen Mobility + Show. But the organizing committee renamed it "H2 MEET" in 2022, an acronym for Mobility, Energy, Environment, and Technology, to highlight its purpose covering the entire hydrogen industry.The exhibition is now in its fourth year and has become an international business platform in the hydrogen industry. H2 MEET 2022 was the largest, with 241 companies from 11 countries. As many as 30,000 people visited the exhibition. The international community revealed its interest while hydrogen-leading countries dispatched special envoys, ministers, and vice ministers. The committee selected Canada as an honored guest to promote international cooperation in 2022. Canada hosted seminars and conferences to discuss the hydrogen industry of Korea and Canada, along with future collaborations to create a global hydrogen industry ecosystem. It also featured "Country Day" in which hydrogen-leading countries shared information about their policies and related technologies. The hosting countries included Canada, Australia, France, the US, Spain, the UK, China, and the Netherlands. The committee arranged the "H2 Innovation Award," the International Hydrogen Conference, and a forum where the industry giants, SMEs, and start-ups introduced technologies and products, creating opportunities for international collaboration. The exhibition led to more than 30 global business MOUs with hydrogen industry leaders such as Hyundai Motor Group, POSCO, SK E&S, the Western Australian government, Samjung E&C, Panasia, Vincennes, and Lightbridge. There were 166 consultations at the KOTRA Business Export Consultation Hall.With the increasing number of participating entities worldwide, the Organizing Committee plans to expand the H2 MEET 2023. "With each year passed, more hydrogen companies and institutions show greater," an official with the committee said. "With various events creating business opportunities, we will keep contributing to creating a low-carbon, eco-friendly society."H2 MEET 2023 is co-located with the K-Battery Show 2023, an exhibition of secondary battery materials and parts.

Through this meeting, theydecided to change the name of ‘H2Mobility+Show’ to ‘H2 MEET’ (*Organizing Committee – Korea Industry Alliance Forum, Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association, Hydrogen Convergence Alliance, Hydrogen Energy Network, Korea Hydrogen Industry Association)At this meeting, Organizing Committee strengthened the intended purpose of an exhibition centered on the overall hydrogen value chain technology, because exhibition field getting expanded due to advancement of technology such as the existing exhibition scope of hydrogen mobility, hydrogen energy, and hydrogen charging infrastructure, Organizing Committee agreed that a name change was necessary to encompass the hydrogen industry ecosystem.With their new name, ‘H2’ stands for Hydrogen, ‘M’ stands for Mobility, ‘E’ stands for Energy and carbon neutrality(Environment), and ‘T’ stands for Technology. The organizing committee confirmed the next event early in consideration of the importance of carbon neutrality, business exchanges at the ‘2021 Hydrogen Mobility + Show’, and international interest. Currently, applications for exhibitors are being accepted on the Hydrogen Mobility + Show website, and about 20 companies have already completed their applications to participate in the exhibition. In the next event, the participation of hydrogen-related companies and institutions in Europe, a leading region in the eco-friendly energy field, is expected to be strengthened. To this end, the organizing committee signed an agreement for hydrogen industry exchange with GL events, a French company, global leader in MICE sector, in Paris, France in November. GL events is also the organizer of the French Hydrogen Industry Exhibition, held in October, HyVolution. The signing ceremony was held with the participation of Jeong Man-ki, chairman of the organizing committee, and Pierre Buchou, HyVolution event manager, from GL events. Under the premise that international cooperation is essential for the development of the hydrogen industry, international cooperation is needed to complete the all-stage value chain covering hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and utilization. They agreed to mutually support companies' overseas expansion.. The '2021 Hydrogen Mobility + Show(www.h2mobility.kr)', which was held last September with 154 companies from 12 countries around the world, proved international interest in the hydrogen industry, with a cumulative total of 27,000 visitors and export consultations of about $81 million. It has established itself as a representative hydrogen exhibition in Korea. In particular, in the exhibition satisfaction survey conducted for visitors and participating companies, 98% of the total answered that they were satisfied with the exhibition contents, and 98% of those who expressed their intention to revisit. In addition, when asked about the performance of exhibition visits such as creating business opportunities, 75% answered that there was a success, and exhibited high satisfaction in the level of exhibitors' entry (70%), Corona 19 quarantine management (77%), and exhibition operation (70%). . The show successfully concluded, highlighting the future possibilities of other such hostings of related specialized exhibitions that can promote advanced technologies of domestic companies and products in the hydrogen industry while creating new business opportunities. In total, 108 companies and institutions in the hydrogen industry from 11 countries participated in as exhibitors and presented a range of technologies and products related to hydrogen and hydrogen mobility. The total number of visitors was recorded at about 12,000 for the exhibition period. According to the organizing committee, due to the COVID-19, online meetings were held between exhibitors and buyers abroad in association with the co-organizer KOTRA. Joined by 22 companies, 42 total web meetings were held and the amount of discussed export deals reached around USD22.4 million. Business talks are still ongoing with KOTRA centers located around the world. On the first day of the exhibition, the 1st Hydrogen Economy Committee, a pan-governmental group for the hydrogen industry was launched. In the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Prime Minister Chung, Sye-kyun, the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Sung, Yoon-Mo, and Hyundai Motor Group Executive Vice Chairman Chung, Eui-sun as well as other prominent committee members attended. The International Hydrogen Forum was successfully held on the second day of the exhibition and aimed to strengthen international cooperation in private sectors and share overviews and roadmaps of individual countries to boost the hydrogen economy. In the forum, representatives participated and delivered speeches from such prominent organizations as Hyundai Motor Group, Air Liquide, Hydrogenics, CHFCA (Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association), and CaFCP (California Fuel Cell Partnership) among others. On the final day, an award ceremony was held for advanced technologies among the participants. Awards were presented to Kolon Industry and SamJung ENC in the areas of hydrogen mobility and infrastructure for hydrogen fueling, respectively.
